What to visit

The hamlet of Montelopio, approximately 2 km. from villa, is a witness to history: The Etruscans, the Longobardians, the Maritime Republic of Pisa, the Knights Templar, and the noble families of the Grand Duchy of Tuscany have all left signs of their passage and their stays here on this “mountain of well-being”.

Beyond the classical destinations of the most important cities of art which surround us, in our immediate vicinity it is possible to visit countless smaller villages which are without doubt rich with notable artistic and cultural interest; amongst others, we draw your attention to the town of Peccioli. There is the Etruscan Museum and, in its surrounding countryside, the Etruscan excavations of the Ortaglia sanctuary, dating back to the ninth-second century BC, the very particular Museum of Russian Icons and, for the pleasure of the little ones, the prehistoric park, among the largest and the most beautiful in Italy.

In the village of Libbiano there is the Astronomical Observatory of Galileo Galieli, in the town of Montefoscoli, The Museum of Peasant Civilization, in the village of San Gervasio, The Museum of Workers and Rural Civilization; in the town of Capannoli in the splendid Villa Baciocchi, in late Baroque style, it is possible to visit both the Zoological Museum and the Archaeological Museum. .

There are countless itineraries of naturalistic interest which find themselves in harmony within our hills, allowing a taste of the beauty of the place and, furthermore, whenever you raise your eyes to the sky, you will see enchanting bell towers and a surprising richness of churches from across ten centuries.
In the course of a year in the town of Peccioli, there are many traditional events, with food festivals, local celebrations linked with theatre events, cultural events of great variety and of a high standard of theatre, music, dance, cinema (with special initiatives for children).

Lajatico and Bocellii

Each year the tenor Andrea Bocelli performs at the “Teatro Naturale Del Silenzio” (Natural Theatre of Silence). Located near Lajatico and just 2 km from our company, it is a magical place nestled in the surrounding green hills.
Thanks to the additional presence of numerous international stars of music, the concerts attract thousands of people from all over the world.
It is a special occasion that takes place every July and which continues to charm its audiences.

Scenery and surrounds

In the surrounding countryside you can see many charming villages and farms, some of them tumbledown – testimony of the past rural civilization. But at the same time they are reviving, transmitting and creating moments of happiness and simple emotions, which all of us desire and you feel again that the world is finally yours, this is what you will get in an agriturismo in Tuscany.

Approximately 1/5 km. from our farmhouse is the little Medieval village of Montelopio accessible by a country road that winds in perfect harmony with the landscape, among vineyards and olive groves, allowing visitors to savor the the marvels of the place. On arriving in the village, you may settle at the tables of the characteristic Perbacco (bar/delicatessen) where you can savor typical dishes or enjoy an aperitif in complete peace.

Our area is very well served by countless typical restaurants; amongst these, I can make mention of one in particular (Ristorante Serravalle) which is easily accessible on foot (500 mt). Other Another restaurant, also 2 km from us, is where Paolo (owner and passionate cook) will make you taste typical Tuscan cuisine with his truly exclusive dishes, and will suggest to you which of the excellent, local wines to accompany your meal, all expertly produced by his own company.

For those who want to be in direct contact with nature, there are beautiful natural trekking and mountain bike routes, and for the more athletic wishing to rediscover the joy of adventure, there are facilities just 5 km from the agritourism site for horseback riding along the attractive paths of our hills, or playing golf at the beautiful field of Castelfalfi, an 22-hole courseas well as a putting green and a practice bunker.
For those who would like to indulge in the care of their own bodies, 12 kilometres from our company there is the exclusive thermal centre of Casciana Terme, where it is possible to benefit from the full range (thermal cures, well-being centre, cosmetic line etc).
Upon request, it is possible to have guided tours to the most beautiful cities of art, or for a very particular experience, aerial trips.
